Indie Bookstore Day Review

Last Saturday was Independent Bookstore Day, and as usual, it was a great time. For those of you who don't know, it's a day when we celebrate independent bookstores by visiting them, bringing friends, buying books, and generally enjoying ourselves. Many bookstores have events, author signings, sales, and more to celebrate the day. It's always a good time.

This time, I made it to three of the seventeen participating bookstores in Connecticut, all while enjoying a shoreline drive with my wife, my sister-in-law, and some friends. In order to keep this post from delving into TLDR territory, I'll just share some of my favorites from the day.

Favorite New Novel: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.

Favorite Graphic Novel: The Aquanaut by Dan Santat.

Favorite Picture Book: Bearnard Writes A Book by Deborah Underwood.

Favorite Used Book: How To Draw Star Wars Heroes, Creatures, Spaceships, & Other Fantastic Things.

Favorite Food: Veggie Quesadilla with a side of Millstone sauce from East Coast Taco.

Just remember, any day can be Indie Bookstore Day, minus the sales and stamps.
